Edmund Heckler

Edmund Heckler (* February 2, 1906; † July 2, 1960 ) was a German engineer, entrepreneur, producer and co-founder of arms company Heckler & Koch.

Life

After his training at the company Mauser in Oberndorf am Neckar, he attended from 1925, the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering Württemberg in Esslingen. From 1936 he was employed by the Hugo Schneider AG ( HASAG ), a metallverarbeitendem and defense company with approximately 50,000 employees. Heckler, who worked as a senior engineer, soon became one of the authorized signatory of the company and was given the task of branch plants in Leipzig, Berlin, diving and Altenburg build. The last three works he led then. On December 28, 1949 he founded, together with Theodor Koch and Alex Seidel, the Heckler & Koch GmbH, from which later developed into one of the most important German weapons manufacturer in the postwar period.
