Theodor Koch

Theodor Koch ( born May 13, 1905 in Zuffenhausen, † October 21, 1976 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) was a German engineer, entrepreneur, producer and co-founder of arms company Heckler & Koch.

Life

After finishing his apprenticeship in May 1924 he began to study Mechanical Engineering at the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering Württemberg in Esslingen. From May 1929 to September 1931 he worked as an engineer at the Mauser AG Oberndorf am Neckar. After that he worked until February 1933 as a foreman on the construction and March to June 1933 at the United ball bearing factories Stuttgart. He was then in July / August 1933 until the end of May 1949 again worked for the Mauser company, including as a manager for the material and fixture.

On December 28, 1949 he founded, together with Edmund Heckler and Alex Seidel, the Heckler & Koch GmbH, from which later developed into one of the most important German arms companies of the postwar period.
