Édouard Chassaignac

Édouard -Pierre -Marie Chassaignac ( born December 24, 1804 in Paris, † August 26 1879 in Versailles) was a French surgeon. He received his doctorate with a dissertation on a broken hip in 1835 in Paris. Two years later he became a professor and prosector at the faculty. He then held several positions, including as a surgeon and as Vice President of the anatomical society. 1857 was Chassaignac president of the surgical society and in 1868 he became a member of the Academy of Medicine.

After Chassaignac a symptom of radial head subluxation ( Chassaignac 's palsy ) and their reduction is named ( Chassaignac - handle).
