Eduardo Risso (rower)

Eduardo G. Risso Salaverría ( born 1 November 1925) is a former Uruguayan rower. He won an Olympic silver medal in 1948.

In the Olympic Rowing Regatta 1948 on the Thames at Henley Risso took the first lead in second place behind the Australians Mervyn Wood, but had it over ten seconds behind. In the repechage to Risso sat seven tenths of a second against Swiss HJ Keller. There were held three semi-finals, one of which aufrückte only the winner into the final, Risso won his race 4 tenths of a second ahead of the Americans Kelly. The finale reached Mervyn Wood, Eduardo Risso and the Italian Romolo Catasta. So just Risso's were previous runs, so clear was the final. Wood won with more than 13 seconds before Risso, who was in turn more than 13 seconds before Catasta the finish.

In 1951 Risso also participated in the Pan American Games.

At the Olympic Rowing Regatta 1952 in Meilahti, a district of Helsinki, was the first time the Soviet Union at the start. Risso met in his forward to the representatives of the Soviet Union Yuri Tjukalow, who won the advance of Risso. The two semi-finals were won by Briton Thomas Fox and Tjukalow, Risso came in his semi-final behind Fox and Mervyn Wood finish. In three hope runs alongside the semi-final winners three other finalists were determined. Risso was only third in his repechage, and thus missed the final, the Tjukalow won against Wood.
