Philosophy

After Herbert religion is entirely a matter of reason. This aims to be primarily in the service of morality. His reasoning by humans can only focus on the individual human being, if morality is the center of life. With this idea he is a classic representative of natural religion. He is considered the founder of the 5 basic principles of natural religion, which he referred to as veritates catholicae.

The five basic principles of natural religion

These five principles are accessible to all people equally by their reason and can be captured by the natural instinct.
