Edward Owen (athlete)

Edward Owen ( born November 6, 1886 in Manchester, † September 24, 1949 in Bexleyheath, London Borough of Bexley ) was a British long-distance runner.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908, he won silver in the five-mile run.

In 1912 he retired from about 1500 m in the flow at the Olympic Games in Stockholm. In the 3000 -meter team race he came in twelfth place finish and won with the team of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland the bronze medal.

1909 and 1912 he was British champion in the mile run.
