Edward Sedgwick

Edward Sedgwick ( born November 7, 1892 in Galveston, Texas, † March 7, 1953 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor, director and film producer.

Life

He was born in Galveston, Texas, the son of Edward Sedgwick Sr. and Josephine Walker, both theater actors. His first experience in the film business as an actor he made in between 1915 and 1924. Particular to 1917, he was seen primarily in short films.

With the year 1917, Sedgwick also turned to the writing of screenplays, from 1920 he began even to stage and films. He was there also a director of several films Buster Keaton during the transition from silent films to talkies. As a director he worked until his death, while he became a screenwriter only until the end of the 1930s in appearance.

In 1958, Sedgwick received its own star on the Walk of Fame.

Sedgwick died of a heart attack in North Hollywood, California. He was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
