Edward Turner (chemist)

Edward Turner ( * 1798 in Jamaica, † February 13, 1837 in Hampstead ( London) ) was an English chemist.

Turner studied medicine in Edinburgh and Göttingen in chemistry. In 1824 he became a lecturer in Edinburgh in 1828 and professor of chemistry at the University of London.

Turner was known for his combat represented by William Prout assumption that all atomic masses must be multiples of the atomic weight of hydrogen.
