EganaGoldpfeil (Holdings) Ltd.

EganaGoldpfeil is a former Hong Kong-based holding company that has worked in the fields of fashion, watches, jewelery and leather goods. The European part of the company filed for insolvency in 2008 and was subsequently settled.

History

The company was formed in 1998 from the merger of the Egana companies ( with brands such as Dugena ) from Hong Kong and the luxury leather goods manufacturer gold arrow from Offenbach. Founder, CEO and majority shareholder was the late in October 2007, German leather goods entrepreneur Hans- Joerg Seeberger.

The European headquarters of the company was located in Offenbach am Main, it maintained manufacturing facilities in Asia and Germany and employed up to 7,600 people worldwide; 2003/2004, the group achieved a turnover of 379 million euros.

In 2005 EganaGoldpfeil caused by the takeover of the traditional shoe manufacturer Salamander from Kornwestheim headlines. In 2007, the company was in financial difficulties and the trade with its shares fell was exposed several times on 30 July 2007 and in the subsequent period. On 12 September 2007 the share trading was suspended until the announcement of the annual results in the long run. Within a few weeks, the stock lost 90 % in value. The suspicion of balance sheet manipulation was confirmed by the independent audit firm KPMG; Parts of the form shown in the balance sheets of receivables, sales and profits were regarded as doubtful.

End of August 2008 reported EganaGoldpfeil for European holding company filed for bankruptcy, the bankruptcy procedure was therefore opened in late October of the same year. End of 2008, the Salamander brand was sold during the year 2009, the European holding of EganaGoldpfeil was settled, the former brands were sold and partly as independent companies continued ..
