Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict is an American breakfast dish of poached eggs on toast or halved English muffin with a slice of fried ham or cooked bacon and hollandaise sauce breakfast. Except in the United States, the Court is also to be found in the UK and other countries, it also often part of the breakfast standard range of international hotels around the world.

Variants

The Eggs Benedict are prepared in many variations, such as when:

  • Eggs Blackstone with streaky bacon instead of ham and tomato slices
  • Eggs Florentine with sautéed spinach instead of ham
  • ( Often to be found in Australia, New Zealand and Canada) Eggs Atlantic, Eggs or Eggs Royale Hemingway with salmon or smoked salmon instead of ham
  • Huevos Benedict with avocado instead of ham and hollandaise sauce with salsa in addition to
  • Eggs hussarde with biscuits instead of muffins with sauce bordelaise and
  • Country Benedict / Eggs Beauregard Biscuits instead of muffins, a thin hamburger ( Sausage Patty ) and Country Gravy.

Formation and Others

For the legislative history of the Eggs Benedict there are two versions:

  • Charles Ranhofer have invented as chef of Delmonico 's Restaurant in New York Eggs Benedict for the financier LeGrand Benedict, when he was complaining about the fact that there is nothing "new " for breakfast. In Ranhofers cookbook The Epicurean from 1894 there is then also a recipe for Eggs à la Benedick.
  • The stock broker Lemuel Benedict is said to have demanded in 1894 at New York's Waldorf -Astoria Hotel as a hangover cure the then known as Eggs Benedict dish.

After the Eggs Benedict, the actor Dirk Benedict has appointed on the advice of his manager.
