Egyptian Hall

The Egyptian Hall (German: Egyptian Hall ) in Piccadilly, London in 1812 by the antiquarian William Bullock for £ 16,000 - built as a museum to accommodate his collection, the architect was John Papworth Buonarroti.

In 1819 he sold his collection and transformed the museum into an exhibition hall. In May 1821 Giovanni Battista Belzoni opened his exhibition here at Seti. 1825 the bookseller George Lackington owners. As of 1873, held in the hall Maskelyne & Cooke their magic performances. Starting in 1886, the exhibition of the New English Art Club took place here annually as a counter-event to the show at the Royal Academy of Arts. 1905, the building was demolished for an office block.
