Egyptian Islamic Labour Party

The Egyptian Islamic Labour Party (formerly the Socialist Labor Party Arab حزب العمل الاشتراكى Hizb al - ʿ amal al - ištirākī ), is an Islamist political party in Egypt. She was banned from 2000 to 2011 and is currently a member of the Democratic Alliance for Egypt.

Political Ideology

The party was established on September 9, 1978 by Ibrahim Shukri and others as successor to the young Egyptian party, was originally a socialist party. Ban

On 20 May 2000, the Egyptian Committee decided on Political Affairs ( the committee responsible for approving the establishment of political parties in Egypt) to freeze the activities of the Working Party and to suspend his newspaper al Shaab. The Committee referred to Article 17 of the Political Parties Act, which enables them to suspend activities of a party - as a means of ending a decision or action by a party that is in contrast to the higher interests of the country.

The committee based its decision on the division within the ranks of the Party: A group led by Ahmad Hamdi, a member of the party executive, and the other by Ahmad Idris.
