The penis head is a 545.7 m high mountain in the southwestern part of the Harz in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geography

The penis head is about 3.5 km east of Herzberg am Harz, about 3.5 km north of Scharzfeld and about 2.5 km south-west of the Great tuber. Adjacent mountain is the center corner.

Afforestation

Today the glans head is partly covered with pines partly with Book. In 1596 he was covered with beech, in 1630 with young oak, birch and beech.

Hiking

There is a hiking trail that leads from the north to the summit. The last 300 m below the summit apply with a slope of up to 34 % as a particular challenge for mountain bikers. On the south side of the glans head a hiking trail on the 300 -year old oak passes owls.

Geology

On the eastern slope there is an isolated occurrence of dark shales of the Silurian, which is one of the oldest rocks in the entire resin.
