The Eichert together with the Heidelsberg a flat mountain range to the south of the center of Aue. The Eichert reaches a height of 564 meters, making it the highest point in the city. Residential development from 1920

In 2000, the nursing home has been extensively renovated and structurally expanded. To preserve the character development, the City Council adopted a preservation statute with a detailed map of the buildings around 2002. By 2011 there were in the residential area Eichert tavern in the street Am Eichert 20, which had to close due to bankruptcy of the owner and operator Olaf Küther. For the neighborhood restaurant, a buyer was sought and not found until 2012 by foreclosure.

On the long meadow on the Eichert a newly designed multi-generational playground will be officially inaugurated on 24 March 2014. It is equipped with benches, traditional play equipment for children and young people as well as with devices for adults to improve flexibility and coordination (shoulder coach, Walker and massagers for back and hands, arms and legs). The city government has invested approximately € 30,000 for the first such place in Aue. About 85 percent of the amount came from the EU and the Free State of Saxony ILE program.
