Eileen Heckart

Eileen Heckart ( born March 29, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio, † December 31, 2001 in Norwalk, Connecticut; actually Anna Eileen Heckart ) was an American actress.

Career

Eileen Heckart won the 1973 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Butterflies are free, after they had already achieved a nomination in 1957 for The Bad Seed and won a Golden Globe. After three nominations for the Tony Award she received this award in 2000, his life's work (Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre ).

She was married in 1944 to John Harrison Yankee Jr. ( † 1997) and had three sons.
