Einoed is a district of the Saar district town of Homburg Saar Pfalz-Kreis. The place name is pronounced in the local dialect Ehnedd. Until the end of 1973 Einoed was an independent municipality in the district of Homburg.

Ingweiler

Ingweiler is the smallest district of Einoed. It was first mentioned in 1180 in a deed of the monastery Werscheiler ( monastery Wörschweiler ). Until 1603 Ingweiler belonged to the County of Nassau -Saarbrücken. Through an exchange agreement in said year Ingweiler came to the Duchy of Pfalz- Zweibrücken, which also belonged Einoed.

Schwarzenacker

History

His first documentary mention was the place on June 3, 1290 as Eynot. The place was inhabited much earlier. Near the mouth of the Black Bach in the Assemblies 1928, the foundations of a salierzeitlichen motte were exposed. Today it is nothing more to see. At the same time you took as spoils walled fragments of reliefs which are attributable to a Roman sanctuary. It probably indicates the place name "old Heidenbuchel " in 1554 by Stella Tilemann out.

Incorporation

In the course of the Saar territory and government reform, the previously independent municipalities Einoed ( with Ingweiler and Schwarzenacker ) Wörschweiler, Kirrberg and Jägersburg came on 1 January 1974 to the city of Homburg.

Population

With 3655 inhabitants Einoed is the largest district of the city of Homburg. Attributable to the town or city parts: Einoed 2867, Ingweiler 173 and Schwarzenacker 615 inhabitants. (As of 1 January 2008)

Policy

Einoed today has the status of a municipality with its own mayor and its own local councils, but to assist the City Council in an advisory capacity only.

The district Einoed - consisting of Einoed, Ingweiler and Schwarzenacker - is facing since August 2004 as the mayor Karl Schuberth (SPD ), his deputy Ulrich Fremgen (SPD). In the current Ortsrat Einoed ( elected in June 2009), the seven SPD and the CDU and FDP FWG two members and one member each.

Traffic

Einoed is connected by a junction of Highway 8 on the German road network.
