Ekushey Padak

The Ekushey Padak, ( Bengali: একুশে পদক ) is next to the Shadhinata Padak the exclusive Civil Merit in Bangladesh. The Order was awarded in 1976 for the first time in memory of the martyrs who were on 21 February 1952 the recognition of Bengali life. The bengali name of the Order is Ekushey Padak, Ekushey which actually refers Twenty-one.

It is awarded annually to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to a large extent on scientific, political, cultural or other areas around the nation. The medallion shows the emblem of Bangladesh and above and below the coat of arms, the words Ekushey Padak and Bangladesh are written in Bengali script. The order consists of bronze and gold.
