El'ad

El ʿ ad or Elad (Hebrew אלעד ) is a planned city in the Center District in Israel, east of Tel Aviv area. It lies between Rosh haAjin and onyx. Her name means God forever.

History

The city was founded in 1998 to create more living space for the fast-growing ultra-Orthodox Jewish population. In particular, it is considered as a satellite town of Bnei Brak, where there are hardly any reserves for housing.

In February 2008, El ʿ ad received the status of a municipality.

El ʿ ad had in 2009 already 36.000 inhabitants. It is regarded as one of the fastest growing cities in Israel.
