El Diario Vasco

El Diario Vasco ( Spanish for " The Basque Tageblatt" ) is a regional daily newspaper in the northern Spanish province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country, headquartered in San Sebastián. El Diario Vasco belongs to the media group Vocento and has a daily circulation of 86 053 copies, the most important newspaper of Gipuzkoa. The newspaper describes itself as bilingual. In fact, 90 % of the content are Spanish-speaking, and only 90% in the Basque language. The sheet is placed in ten regional editions.

El Diario Vasco was founded November 27, 1934 by the Sociedad de Publicaciones Vascongada. 1945, the newspaper of the competing group El Correo Español was bought.
