El Toro Y

The El Toro Y is a motorway junction in the United States. It is located to Irvine in southern Orange County in the state of California. At the triangle Interstate 405 branches as San Diego Freeway from Interstate 5, which is south of the triangle also known as San Diego Freeway and north bears the name Santa Ana Freeway, from. Y is derived from the form of the triangle.

In the northwest of the triangle between the Interstates, the Irvine Spectrum Center is located in the north of the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro.

With a traffic 100000-350000 vehicles per day is the El Toro Y is one of the busiest streets in the world. In 1993, the California Department of Transportation began with the expansion of the transport system in Greater Los Angeles. In this project, the El Toro Y was expanded and got as special lanes such as HOV lanes. After four years of construction, the sorting area of Interstate 5 was south of the triangle with up to 26 lanes on several roadways to one of the widest avenues in the world.
