Elaine Cassidy

Elaine Cassidy ( born December 31, 1979 in Kilcoole, County Wicklow ) is an Irish actress.

Life and achievements

Elaine Cassidy grew up as the youngest of three sisters. She made her debut in a starring role in the short film The Stranger Within Me from the year 1994. One of the key roles they played also in the comedy Summer feelings from the year 1996.

In the thriller Felicia's Journey (1999) she played a pregnant Irish woman who lives in a clueless played by Bob Hoskins serial killer. For this role she was in 2000 for a Genie Award and a Golden Satellite Award nomination. On the side of Nicole Kidman and Fionnula Flanagan she was seen in 2001 in the horror drama The Others (as dumb maid Lydia ). For her starring role in the drama Disco Pigs (2001) she was nominated for the 2002 British Independent Film Award and received the 2003 IFTA Award. In 2005 she was nominated for her role in the television drama Fingersmith (2005) again for the IFTA award. A wide audience it reached with the award-winning video for the 2002 released single " The Scientist " by the band Coldplay.

Private life

Since December 31, 2007 Cassidy is married to Stephen Lord. Their daughter came in 2009 to the world.
