Élan Motorsport Technologies

Élan Motorsport Technologies is the parent company was founded in 1997 for the motorsport activities of the car manufacturer Panoz. The seat is in Braselton in the U.S. state of Georgia.

History

1997 was developed as the first racing car of the Panoz Esperante GTR -1 for the GT1 class. This was as a sports car with front engine one of the most unusual this time. From 1999, this was replaced by the Panoz LMP -1 Roadster -S, a development of the GTR -1 without a roof. Two years later this was replaced by the Panoz LMP07. However, the LMP07 proved a failure development. Starting in 2003, then a GT2 version of the Panoz Esperante, the Esperante GTLM was developed and used. All of these vehicles were out in the North American IMSA racing series, such as the American Le Mans Series, traveling in Europe.

For Class 1, the IMSA Lites racing series in the Panoz DP02 was developed. This is based on the failure of Formula X project. This vehicle comes with a 2.3 liter Mazda engine and also serves as the basis for the single-seater used in the Formula Star Mazda. In addition, a similar vehicle for Class 2 is the Panoz DP04 sold, but with an engine, the Suzuki GSXR 1000 comes. The Panoz DP06 is another designed for this series chassis. As the only Allowed vehicle for the class it is sold as FSCCA Sports Car or SCCA Sports Racer. The specialty of this vehicle is that it ( Formula SCCA ) can be rebuilt as it was then in the Formula X, in a short time also to a formula race car.

Famous for its Formula Ford racing car manufacturer British Van Diemen was bought in 1999. This is also technically responsible for the Formula Star Mazda and the SCCA vehicles. In addition to Van Diemen's also chassis manufacturer G-Force has been adopted. This produced the majority of chassis for the IndyCar Series. The temporarily named as Panoz G-Force race car but no longer produced, so in the IndyCar Series Dallara only competitor remains.

For the 2007 Champ Car season were hatched at the new Panoz DP01 EMT. This should be fitted with a Cosworth engine usher in the future of the Champ Car series. After the series but was taken over by the IRL in 2008, had to be carried to his grave this project but. However, since the prices of the Dallara chassis used by the IRL were horrendous due to the high euro exchange rate, there was use considerations from 2009 Panoz DP01 as an American brand in the IRL.

As a new project builds EMT the Superleague Formula race cars, the Panoz DP09. This is equipped with a 4.2 liter V12 from Menard Competition Technologies.
