Electric Eel Shock ( EES abbreviated ) is a three -piece rock band from Japan.
History
Akihito Morimoto (guitar / vocals) and Kazuto Maekawa ( bass) met at a school in Osaka know. Together, they combined her love of British and American hard rock, heavy metal and Hairspray artists such as Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Ratt and Twisted Sister. After moving to Tokyo and an attempt as a pop musician to Kazuto joined the funk band The Apollo 's. There he met drummer Tomoharu " Gian " Ito. Together with Akihito they formed Electric Eel Shock first as a funk band with a 11 -strong cast. But as you could so rare samples, it was decided to base staff continue. In 1998, she brought her self-produced debut album Maybe I think, We Can Beat Nirvana, then the live album Live Punctured out. With the 2000 album Slayers Bay Blues they ventured on a concert tour to America.
2000, the group decided to move to the United States with her new tour manager Bob Slayer. After a nearly two-year tour, where the band lived alone from the sale of merchandise and their two albums, they recorded the album Go America. The album was originally sold as a split EP with the Get- Go's in Japan, but then extended to multiple tracks and sold as a full album. The end of 2002 we went at the invitation of a fanzine writer on an extensive tour of the UK. The hobby journalist, eventually becoming its manager and Electric Eel Shock began between Europe and the United States swing back and forth. So the band played in 2003 at the Roskilde Festival, the South by Southwest Festival, and the CMJ Music Marathon. There was also a European tour with Danko Jones as support. In 2004, the album Go Europe appeared on the label Bitzcore Records ( Europe) / Demolition Records ( UK / Japan), or Go USA! on Gearhead Records.
In 2005, the album Beat Me with producer Attie constr who worked already with Judas Priest, Scorpions and The Gathering appeared. The album was recorded in the Netherlands. After that, the band went back to world tour. Cooperation with constr continued with Transworld Ultra Rock 2009 Sugoi Indeed 2007. To finance Sugoi Indeed, the band is breaking new ground. Music style
Electric Eel Shock come out of the garage rock scene and played the beginning a lo-fi style, however, was always professional with increasing becoming known.
