Elena Fatalibekova

Jelena Abramovna Fatalibekowa (Russian: Елена Абрамовна Фаталибекова, the World Chess Federation FIDE Elena Fatalibekova; born October 4, 1947 in Moscow) is a Russian chess player.

Life

Chess, she learned from her mother, Olga Rubzowa that was 1956-1958 World Chess Champion.

Due to its international success was Jelena Fatalibekowa 1977 by the FIDE Woman Grandmaster title.

Chess

First international success it achieved in the 1970s: a second place in Tbilisi (1970 ), won in Chelyabinsk (1971) and 1974, the Soviet Championship.

It arrived quickly with the world leaders with a victory in the Interzonal in 1976 in Tbilisi, defeated in candidate competitions Valentina Kozlovskaja 1977 in Sochi and played in the semi-final against Alla Kushnir.

In the following years she played twice in Interzonentunieren: 1979 in Alicante ( 6th place) and 1982 in Bad Kissingen (8th place ).

Senior Tournaments

In the Senior World Chess Championship, it achieved excellent results. She played with numerous World Championships from 2000 to 2009.

They won the title three times world champion seniors: 2000 in Rowy, 2001 in Arco and 2004 in Halle.

In 2009, she finished second behind Nona Gaprindashvili.

Twice she won the Senior European Women: 2007 in Hockenheim and 2008 in Davos.
