Elena Moșuc

Elena Mosuc ( born January 18, 1964 in Iaşi ) is a Romanian opera singer ( lyric coloratura soprano).

Career

Mosuc studied at the University of Art and singing at the Conservatory and George Enescu in her hometown of Iasi. To earn the degree, she worked as an elementary school teacher. Even before graduating, she made ​​her debut at the Opera of Iasi as the "Queen of the Night" in The Magic Flute and sang the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, " Gilda " in Rigoletto and " Violetta" in La Traviata.

In 1990 she won the first prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the 1993 European Prize for music. In 1995 he received the Premio Bellini in Catania Mosuc d' Oro, the 2001 Premio Zenatello di Verona and in 2004 the Premio Verdi di Modena. In 2005, she received the President of Romania Order as the officer highest musical award in the country.

Since the season 1991/92 is Elena Mosuc ensemble member of the Zurich Opera House.
