Elisaveta Bagriana

Elizaveta Bagrjana (also Elisaveta; Bulgarian Елисавета Багряна born April 29, 1893 in Sofia, Bulgaria, as Elizaveta Ljubomirowa Beltschewa, Bulgarian Елисавета Любомирова Белчева, † March 24, 1991 ibid ) was a Bulgarian poet, among other things, children's and musical wrote poetry. It is considered the first Bulgarian poet who spoke openly in their works on their most intimate feelings as a woman.

Work

Bagrjana studied Slavic philology at St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. After 1915 her first poems were published and she had worked for several years as a teacher, she completely devoted to writing and worked for various magazines and newspapers.

Her first book, published in 1927 cemented their reputation as a major poet. Her major works include The year rolls out ( 1930) and Des Sailor Star ( 1932). Together with Nikola Furnadschiew and Mladen Isayev Bagrjana wrote the text for the 1950 valid until 1964 National anthem of Bulgaria.
