Elke Altmann

Elke Altmann ( born June 19, 1957 in Rostock ) is a German politician (The Left ). From October 1999 to September 2009 she was a member of the Saxon parliament.

Life

Altmann graduated after matriculation in 1976, until 1978 a permanent training as an animal keeper in pig plant St. Michaelis. Then she made until 1983 at the Humboldt University of Berlin and at the Wilhelm-Pieck- University of Rostock animal production studies. After that she was from 1985 to 1988 deputy plant manager of the pig facility of St. Michael and trained from 1990 to 1993 the state approved geriatric nurse around when she worked from 1993 to 1999 in the outpatient service. Altmann is estranged and mother of five children.

Policy

Altmann is a member of the SED and later the PDS for which it was from 1992 to 2003 Councillor in Brand- Erbisdorf since 1976. Since June 2004 she is a councilor of the PDS in Freiberg. From October 1999 she was a member of the Saxon parliament in which they belonged to the Committee on Environment and Agriculture.
