Elphel

Elphel is a camera with open hardware and open - source operation, which is produced by Elphel Inc. primarily for scientific applications. Because of the open hardware and software, the camera can be easily adapted to many different applications. Elphel Inc. was founded in 2001 by the Russian physicist Andrey Filippov, who emigrated to the USA in 1995.

Applications

Elphel be used to take pictures for Google Street View and the Google Books project. Also used the NASA Global Hawk UAV Elphel cameras. The camera was also used by the Apertus project. Apertus is a project of enthusiasts and filmmakers who are interested in digital cinema solution.
