Elpida Memory, Inc. is one of the world's largest manufacturer of DRAM modules and modules.

On 27 February 2012 presented the Elpida Memory, Inc. to file for bankruptcy.

6 May 2012 Google Micron Technology announced that it will take over Elpida Memory for 200 billion yen.

History

Elpida was founded on 20 December 1999 as NEC Hitachi Memory, Inc.. In May 2000, it was renamed the Elpida Memory, Inc.. In 2003, Elpida DRAM division of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. Since November 2004, Elpida is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
