Eluned Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Ely

Eluned Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Ely ( born February 16, 1967 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh politician. She was from 1994 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament for the Labour Party and is a member of the House of Lords since 2011.

After graduating from the Atlantic College, one of the United World Colleges, Eluned Morgan studied at the University of Hull. She works as a researcher for S4C and the BBC. In 1994 she was MEP for Mid & West Wales. With an age of 27 years, she was making her the youngest MPs. 1999 and 2004 she was re-elected as Member of Parliament for Wales. She was, inter alia, Member of the Committee on Culture, Youth, Education and the Media, the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, the Committee on Budgetary Control and Parliament's rapporteur for Liberialisierung the electricity and gas markets. Following her political career, she took a job as director for "low carbon business development in Wales " at the Scottish and Southern Energy.

On 19 November 2010 it was announced that Eluned Morgan granted a Life Peerage and that member of the House of Lords is on the Labour side. It was 26 January 2011, supported by Baroness Royall of Blaisdon and the Baroness Kinnock of Holyhead, introduced in the House of Lords. In reference to the Cardiff suburb of Ely, where you grew up, she has the title Baroness Morgan of Ely.
