Emil Seifert

Emil Seifert ( born April 28, 1900 in Prague, † October 20, 1973 ) was a Czechoslovakian football player and football coach German - Bohemian origin.

Career

Emil Seifert began his footballing career in 1915 at the Prague Viktoria Zizkov and sports club moved in 1921 to the famous Slavia, with which he could 1921-1929 twice win the Czechoslovak league titles in eight years. With the Czechoslovak national team he took in 1920, together with his club colleague Jan Vaník, at the Olympic Games in Antwerp and arrived with the crew of the fledgling country sensational in the final. After the gateway to 2-0 in Belgium, however, the entire Czechoslovak team left the field of play and then was disqualified. After an interlude in the game year 1929/30, when city rivals Bohemians Prague, he returned again in 1930 to the Red and Whites back and celebrated in 1931 with the traditional club its third championship as a player.

In 1934 he ended his active career as a player and suggested that a career as a coach. In 1939 he took over the office of the head coach at Slavia Prague and led the club with the star players Josef Bican, Miroslav Holman, Ota Hemele and Antonín Bradáč at the top from 1940 to 1943 to four league titles in a row. International success came Seifert and his team denied until 1945 due to the pronounced by the Nazis for the then Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and exit ban.
