Émile Chambon

Émile François Chambon ( born January 10, 1905 in Geneva, † 28 October 1993 in Collonge -Bellerive ) ( citizens of Carouge GE) was a Swiss painter

Life

Emile Chambon was born in Geneva, the son of Emile -Joseph Chambon and his wife Joséphine Coppier. As an artist of the 20th century, the painter Emile Chambon Geneva has always remained independent of the major artistic movements of his time in spite of dealing, which he used with contemporaries. The work of Gustave Courbet, Caravaggio and Félix Vallotton, for whom he cherished a great passion, and figurative painting, he has always adored. Cubism and Surrealism have greatly influenced him, though Chambon felt never belong to one of the two styles. Figures such as Louise de Vilmorin, which supported the artist regularly, or Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, with whom Chambon shared his passion for primitive art, he was one of his friends.
