Émile Gaston Chassinat

Émile Gaston Chassinat ( born May 5, 1868 in Paris, † May 26, 1948 in Saint- Germain -en- Laye ) was a French Egyptologist and Koptologe.

Émile Gaston Chassinat working first in the printing industry and started in 1888 in Paris to study Egyptology. He was archéologie since 1895, member of the Institut français d' orientale in Cairo and was its director from 1898 to 1910.

He was involved in the excavations in Edfu, ad - Deir al -Bahari, Meir, Dendera, Abu Roasch, Bawit, Asyut, in the Valley of Kings and in Qatta.
