Emilija Chalsberijewna Turei (Russian Эмилия Халсбериевна Турей, scientific transliteration Emilija Chalsberievna Turej; born October 6, 1984 in Astrakhan) is a Russian handball player.

The right-handed plays mainly on the position of left winger, but is occasionally used on outside right. In 180 appearances for Russia, they scored 613 goals.

Career

The daughter of a Russian mother and a Sierra - Leoners started her handball career in her native city of Astrakhan, at the club Astrachanotschka Astrakhan. In 2005 she moved to Slagelse DT to Denmark. This club was 2007 Danish champion, and won the EHF Champions League. In 2008 she joined the league rivals FCK Håndbold, with whom she won the 2009 European Cup Winners' Cup and 2010 Danish Cup. In the season 2010/11 Turei ran for the Spanish first division side SD Itaxo with which they won the championship. Then, in the Russian first division side Rostov - Don under contract. In summer 2012, she returned to Astrachanotschka Astrakhan. After she ran aground a half years for Astrachanotschka, she joined in December 2013 the Romanian first division CSM Bucureşti.

In the Men's Handball World Championship of Women in France in 2007, she was with the Russian National Team World Champion. A year later she won at the Olympics, the silver medal at the European Championships and the bronze medal. It belonged to the squad of their national federation at the 2009 World Championships in China, where she was world champion again. In summer 2012 she participated at the Olympic Games in London.
