Emily Hughes
Emily Hughes ( born January 26, 1989 in Great Neck, Long Iceland, NY ) is an American figure skater.
Emily is the sister of Olympic champion Sarah Hughes in 2002. She has four other siblings.
She began figure skating at the age of three years. After a few difficulties at junior level ( 11 in 2002 and 2003 at the national championships ), she took a break, after which they failed to qualify for the U.S. Championships in 2004.
2005 began her ascent. She won bronze at the Junior World Championships. The following year, she later got a place at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin, after the injured Michelle Kwan had withdrawn, and placed seventh.
Emily runs for skating club The SC of New York, Inc., their coach is Bonni Retzkin.
