Emmanuel (singer)

Emmanuel, civil Jesús Emmanuel Acha Martinez (* April 16, 1955 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican pop singer and composer. He is the son of Raúl ( Rovira ) Acha, a famous bullfighters and flamenco singer and dancer Conchita Martinez.

Life

First, strive to emulate his father and himself to be a bullfighter, which he succeeded in part, but he exchanged soon Muleta and Capote (both bullfighting instruments) against the microphone.

In 1976, he won a singing competition that is organized by the national newspaper " El Heraldo " in Mexico each year. The musical focus was still clearly in the typical Mexican folk music, the so-called mariachi. He was regarded as a legacy of the hugely popular not only in Mexico Mariachi musician Pedro Vargas. He received a recording contract with RCA Records, and brought over the years, several quite successful albums out that have been awarded several gold and platinum. More and more, he then turned to the typical for Central and Latin pop music.

Besides his musical ambitions, he is also very interested in nature and its protection and endeavors to sensitize the people of his native land for the conservation themes. He is an active member of the organization Movimiento Hombre - Naturaleza ( man-nature movement ), which demands a responsible approach to the environment.
