Empty Net Goal

Empty Net Goal is a certain Tortreffer ice hockey and related games such as inline skating hockey or inline hockey.

A team can take in appropriate situations the goalkeeper from the field to bring about an extra player, a powerplay which exerts more pressure on the opponent. Most often this tactic is used in tight residues near the end of the game when the chance of a balance is more important than the risk of a further enemy hit. If it is possible the opposing team in this situation, however, hit the empty net, one speaks of an Empty Net Goal.
