Energetický a průmyslový holding

The Czech company Energetický a Průmyslový Holding as ( Abbreviation: EPH) is a power supply, mining companies and power plant operators based in Prague. With approximately 6200 employees, the company achieved in the legal form Akciová společnost (as) in the fiscal year 2011 sales of 39.4 billion CZK and an EBITA of 7.2 billion CZK.

With an installed capacity of 1477 MW electricity and 4744 MW of heat EPH is one of the largest energy companies in Europe.

In the course of antitrust investigations by the European Commission in the Czech Republic breaches of examination rules were found. After careful examination of the allegations EPH and J & T Investment Advisors were occupied in 2012 by a fine of 2.5 million euros.

On June 29, 2012 EPH announces that the acquisition of the mining and power plant operator means German brown coal company of the CEZ through its subsidiary EP Energy as was completed. In return ČEZ took over the company Energotrans of EPH.

E.ON sold in January 2013 its 24.5 percent stake in Slovak plynárenský priemysel for 1.3 billion euros in EPH. On May 24, 2013 Electricite de France announced (EDF ) that it sold its 49 percent stake in the second largest Slovak utilities Stredoslovenská Energetika for 400 million euros in EPH. The sale of the power plant bush house and the Helmstedt lignite mining area of MIBRAG, a subsidiary of EPH, E.ON announced on 18 September 2013.
