Engineering mathematics

The collective term techno Mathematics, Mathematics or Engineering Mathematics is defined as a course of study that is located between the classical mathematics and the engineering sciences.

Study

When studying it is to both provide a basic understanding of mathematics, including the corresponding theory and also import it in Applications of Mathematics ( natural sciences, engineering, computer science, etc.). The study requires an interest in formal and logical thinking and to the abstraction and analysis of various problems.

Motivation

The idea of the course is to train the mathematician as an interlocutor of the technician in the research and development departments of the industry. Many prototypes of new developments are now first virtually simulated in computer before they are built real. So that in a research and development department is no problem in practical cooperation, the mathematician must learn to understand the technician. Therefore, the study of industrial mathematics builds so that in addition to a thorough education in mathematics a technical subject to be studied (for example, electrical or mechanical engineering ) as well as specific portions of the computer science or of scientific computing.
