Enrico Toselli

Enrico Toselli ( born March 13, 1883 in Florence, † January 15, 1926 in Florence) was an Italian composer and pianist.

Life

Enrico Toselli came from a from Nice originating, wealthy family. He got in the youngest age piano lessons from his mother Ottavia. When he debuted in his hometown at the age of 10 years, he provoked admiration and astonishment. There followed years of perfecting by Giovanni Sgambati ( pupil of Franz Liszt) and Giuseppe Martucci ( Anton Rubinstein admired ). From 1897 to 1907 led tours Toselli, inter alia, to Paris, Turin, and Pallanza ( 1904/1905 ) Cairo or Alexandria. His most famous work, the Serenata op 6.1, which became famous under the name " Toselli Serenade", Toselli composed in 1900, at the age of 17 years. 1907 married Enrico Toselli Louise of Austria - Tuscany, the divorced wife of Friedrich August III. , Crown Prince of Saxony. The two had a son, Carlo Emmanuele Filiberto (1908-1969), but were divorced in 1912. Their son remained with Toselli. After the failed marriage Enrico Toselli could not celebrate successes as they used more and fell into oblivion. He lived in Florence, Via La Marmora, and died there with only 43 years from cancer. His son and his second wife, Pia Santarini Pancerasi were with him when he died.
