Enrique Carral Icaza

Enrique Carral Icaza (* July 14, 1914 in Mexico City) is a Mexican architect.

Life

Carral studied from 1933 to 1938 architecture at the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM). His work as an architect, he took on in 1941. With his more rationalist designs where he was always looking for new influences, he shaped the history of contemporary Mexican architecture. He designed mostly residential, educational institutions, commercial and religious buildings, hospitals, industrial and administration buildings and recreational and tourist facilities. Among other things, he was the lead in projects of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (German: Institute for social security ) tasked with the main line of the UNAM - building projects.

At the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura UNAM and at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA ), he was a professor of architecture composition. From 1958 to 1960 he was Director of the Department of Architecture from 1975 and 1976, also coordinator of the training workshop, one of the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura at UNAM.

Carral was a founding member of the Academia Mexicana de Arquitectura and is a member of the Colegio de Arquitectos is de la Ciudad de México (CAM ) as well as a member of the Council of the academic emeritus members ( Consejo de Socios Académicos Eméritos ) of the Sociedad de Arquitectos de México (SAM ).
