History

Entertainment One was founded in 1973 in Ontario as a record on Wheels Limited ( ROW). Initially the focus of the company was the marketing of music records. In the late seventies, the branch network of the company grew. In the 80s and 90s the company focused heavily on the distribution of music makers and videos. 2001 came CD and DVD sales added, 2003, the marketing of video games.

In 2003 the company went to the Toronto Stock Exchange Stock Exchange. Shortly after the IPO, the company was renamed in Entertainment One and soon became the third largest distributor of music, film and video games, including to private consumers. In June 2005, Entertainment One acquired the company Koch Entertainment. Thus, the company has gained access to the U.S. market by Koch Entertainment Distribution, as well as the portfolio by Koch Records. These are now known by the name of Entertainment One Distribution U.S. and eOne Music. The company was therefore unable to secure the rights to the portfolio of cooking and market them worldwide, which led to the expansion of the company. 2007 was followed by another IPO on the London Stock Exchange. In the following years, other companies were acquired, including 2007, the Contender Entertainment Group, one of the largest distributors of television films in the UK. Furthermore, the Seville Entertainment Inc., a leading Canadian distributor and rights holder for TV movies.
