Eparchy

With Eparchy of a bishopric (or diocese ) is called in the Orthodox and Eastern Churches. The diocesan bishop of the Eparchy is called eparch. Eparch outside the traditional territory of a church are Exarch, their field is called Exarchate.

The united with the Roman Catholic Church Eastern Church dioceses and dioceses of the Roman Catholic Church with Byzantine rite are called eparchies or Exarchate.
