Districts of Cyprus

Eparchy (Greek επαρχία ) is a Greek form of administrative divisions.

Greece

In modern Greece, the term eparchy was also for a 1997 with the " Kapodistrias " plan abolished Greek administrative unit representing about one county and hierarchically between the urban and rural communities ( Dimos and Kinotita ) and the prefecture ( nomos ) was located.

Cyprus

As such, they are available in the Republic of Cyprus, where they correspond to a district. They also represent the statistical LAU 1 level

The 6 dioceses are divided into 615 Greek Dimoi ( Δήμοι ) or Koinotites ( Κοινότητες ), which are urban and rural municipalities ( LAU - 2 level)
