Kyrenia District

The District Kyrenia is a district of the Republic of Cyprus. Main town is Kyrenia. It is the smallest district of the island.

Since the Turkish invasion in 1974 the district of Kyrenia de facto no longer exists; it corresponds to the district of Girne TRNC. It is the only district of the Republic of Cyprus over which exerts these no control, not even on a sub-area. Formally, there is this further, and acts as the representative of the displaced residents.
