Eperezolid is an antibiotic from the group of oxazolidinones. It inhibits the protein biosynthesis of gram-positive bacteria. It is especially effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, enterococci and streptococci.

Pharmacology

Eperezolid inhibits at a very early stage of the initiation step, the Proteininbiosynthese. Various proteins ( initiation factors ) are deposited with the t - RNA together to an initiation complex. Eperezolid disturbs the precise formation of this complex; as a result, the proteins are not expressed. The gram-negative bacterial cell wall is less permeable than the Gram-positive for eperezolid.
