Epsilon Boötis

Epsilon Bootis proper name " Izar " (Arabic إزار Izar " cape "), even pulcherrima (Latin: the most beautiful ), is the name of the second brightest star in the constellation Bootes.

Izar is a charming double star, consisting of like an orange star with an apparent magnitude of 2.7 and a blue star of brightness like 5.1.

Because of the small distance of 2.8 ", connected to the large difference in brightness of the two components is to separate a telescope from about 75 mm hole required ( position angle of the companion: 340 degrees). Epsilon Bootis is approximately 210 light years from the Sun.

Another of his names are Mizar, Mirak and Mirach, but these are also names of stars in the Big Dipper and the Andromeda.
