ε Ophiuchi ( Epsilon Ophiuchi, ε Oph short ) is a star of spectral type G with an apparent visual brightness of 3.2 mag. He is a little over 100 light years away.

The star bears the historical proper names Yed Posterior. The name (Arabic يد jad / lat. ) Means " the next hand ."
