Epsilon Reticuli

1

ε Reticuli ( Epsilon Reticuli, short ε Ret) is about 60 light years distant star system in the constellation network.

It is a binary star system, consisting of a subgiant of spectral type K2, ε Reticuli A, and a white dwarf ε, Reticuli B. The angular distance between the two components is currently about 13 ", which corresponds to roughly 240 astronomical units. Ε Reticuli A is surrounded by a sub-stellar object.

Exoplanet

ε Reticuli b, sometimes ε Reticuli Ab, is discovered by radial velocity measurements exoplanet candidates orbiting ε Reticuli A. It has an orbital period of about 430 days and has a minimum mass of about 1.6 Jupiter masses. The web has a low eccentricity of about 0.1, the semi-major axis measures about 1.3 astronomical units.
