EpsTk

EpsTk stands for " Encapsulated PostScript Toolkit" and consists of pure GNU Octave or MATLAB script files, with which you can generate comprehensive 2D graphics. EpsTk is used in many cases as an alternative to gnuplot as a function plotter, as the graphics routines run in both Octave and MATLAB without changing the program. But the generation of bitmaps or import from other graphics objects are decisive advantages over Gnuplot. The graphical output in Encapuslated PostSpript a wide variety of further processing is possible. Useful for this purpose is the use of a PostScript interpreter such as Ghostscript or Ghostview.

History

The graphics package was written in the FGAN 1997 by Stefan Müller and released under the GPL. In 1999 it was included as an installable package under the name " octave- epstk " in the Debian distribution and has since very widespread.

Properties
